Hello Ladies,
I need help please.
I bought several petterns from Lekala.
I entered my measurement, which is 106 cm bust and 100 cm hip.
I printed the patterns out - and there the bust is 100cm and 94 cm hip.
I would understand if the pattern is bigger because of movement ease - but smaller?
I wrote to Lekala twice but didn`t get any answer.
Does somebody know what to do?
I know how to alter bust for instance but I fail to see why and how I should built a complete new pattern when my measurements are requested.
I hope you can read my message and have some advices for me.
I am thankfull for each suggestion.

In case there were developed for knits the negative ease allowance might be the reason of the deviation of the measurements
On the other hand it is necessary to put attention to the format of the paper you are using to print the patterns: If you ordered them in A4 and printed in " legal " the size of the patterns will be smaller due to improper scaling

Unfortunately it is not a problem with the printer. On some of the patterns is a control-square which fits exactly.
Also the neckline and the armhole seem to be correct.

 

The patters I bought are:
5981,4224,4294,4325,5920,5995,5982,
5979,5899,4299,5772,5769,5561,5342
4319,4304,4303
The measurements requested are:
Heights Bust Under bust Waist Hips/Belly Hips

 

The patterns I´ve stuck together are:
4224
5982
5899
And each of those three are 6 cm too tight.
You are right that the patters are destined for Jersey or knits , and I can understand when there is no or less movement ease.
But when they are 6 cm smaller than I really am, I will look like a sausage.
For the neckline, the midlenghts and armhole seem to be correcht - I cannot only "stretch" the pattern.
I have narrow shoulders, big bust and small hips.
So in the meantime I`ve learned how to alter easy patterns.(whithout draping or so)
But: when I buy Vogue or Burda ore some else - I know which size to take to make my alternations - and I knew I have to make this alternations before.
Don`t misunderstand me - I`m not so naiv to think the patterns from Lekala will fit exactly with only 5 measurements .
But I think when my measurements are required I can expect that those measurements are considered, otherwise I will can buy "standard size measurements".
I now be afraid that all patters are too small, and there are patterns with man many pieces.

РЕКОМЕНДАЦИИ ПО ВЫБОРУ ТКАНИ: двусторонний трикотаж средней степени растяжимости из натуральных или смесовых волокон.

 

"Средняя степень растяжимости" 15-20%
